Katherine Johnson Martinko is a Canadian writer and author. Her first book, Childhood Unplugged: Practical Advice to Get Kids Off Screens and Find Balance, came out in July 2023 from New Society Publishers. She makes regular appearances on national TV, radio stations, and podcasts across Canada and the U.S., as well as in-person presentations, to talk about how to curb kids’ device use. She writes about digital minimalism, parenting, and technology in her popular and fast-growing email newsletter, The Analog Family.

A former senior editor at Dotdash Meredith, her work has appeared in The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, CBC, Global News, Motherly, Jonathan Haidt's After Babel newsletter, Discovery Network, Green Child magazine, and other publications. She has worked as an editor for Martha Stewart, Allrecipes, Angi, Danone, and other corporate clients. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto.
