Tom Rachman, a Canadian novelist based in England, was a foreign correspondent for the Associated Press in Rome, and an editor at the International Herald Tribune in Paris. He has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, The New Yorker, and other publications.

His novel The Imperfectionists (2010) was an international bestseller, longlisted for the Giller Prize, and translated into 25 languages. Other works were nominated for the Costa Prize, the Sky Arts Award, and the Edge Hill Prize, and his fiction has appeared on “Best of the Year” lists in The Globe and Mail, The New York Times, NPR, and elsewhere. His forthcoming novel about the writing life, The Imposters, will be out in 2023.
