Face The World Foundation Gala, June 15, Vancouver

Face The World, the BC-based charitable foundation whose mission it is to support the smaller, often overlooked organizations, hosted its annual gala dinner on June 15. For the past 33 years, the organization’s founder Jacqui Cohen, President of Army & Navy, has made use of her own Point Grey home as the spot for the annual summer-timed dinner. This year, some 200 guests gathered in a tent in her garden, and by night’s end raised $1.7-million together, which will in due time, be distributed to the various organizations focused on programs which support some of the city’s most vulnerable including abused children and women, the hungry or homeless and the elderly. Since it’s founding, the organization has raised more than $21-million for hundreds of organizations, including Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood House, Burnaby Community Services and Alzheimer’s Society of BC. There in the garden to support the foundation and in turn it’s beneficiaries: CEO of Bosa Properties Colin Bosa, Chairman & CEO of ZLC Garry Zlotnik and Marcus & Millichap’s Mario Negris, who all joined as Corporate Angel donors for 2024; artists including Cori Creed, Tiko Kerr and Martha Sturdy (who gave a piece to the live auction); broadcaster Vicki Gabereau; former politician turned chair of BC Ferries, Joy MacPhail; and chair and CEO of Gold Royalty Corp David Garofalo and his wife Christie.
